CWB CD REVIEWS
Cleveland Free Times - Fall 2004
Catwalkblue has released a five-song CD that should appeal to neo-hippy college kids that dig O.A.R., Rusted Root, and the Dave Matthews Band. It's easy to tell it got its start at Case frat parties. Dave Matthews' influence infuses 'Walkaway,' with its snowy soul melody and lightly funky underpinning. It's got a catchy chorus but plenty of open space for jamming. 'Twenty-one on Seventeen' is one of the sort sprawling, bouncy, countryfied tunes the Dead made popular, segueing at the end into a piano-accompanied ballad. The band avoids referencing the Dead in its bio, but the music speaks louder than words. The funk-driven 'Belinda,' accented by Matt Horwich's sax, and the dense, darker 'Looking for You' with Greg Garwood's wailing guitar lead, show off the band's hard-rocking side.

Akron Beacon Journal - October 1st, 2004
This talented Cleveland-Akron quintet presents a five-song EP with the groovy frat party sound that briefly infected pop music and had people thinking that Hootie and Blowfish and the Spin Doctors were actually good. They’re funkier than the Hootmeisters and less annoying than Spin Doctors and their tunes have decent hooks. But too many of the tunes use that standard watered-down-faux-funk beat that makes me want to break the keg tap, throw a beer at anyone wearing Abercrombie & Fitch and leave the party shouting the words to Kick Out the Jams. Sorry, it’s a gut reaction over which I have no control.

CWB and the CLEVELAND CAVS
Cleveland Scene - December 26th, 2004
Funky little jam band Catwalkblue just scored the biggest gig of its three-year career, and the compromises that come with it pose little concern: “They’ve asked us to do some Doors or Rolling Stones covers,” shrugs bassist Matt Miller about the local quintet’s pregame shows at 11 Cavaliers home games this season. “But we pretty much get to play what we want.” The groove-soaked group – which cribs as much from Dave Matthews as it does the Doobie Brothers – begins its first Gund concert on Sunday, an hour before tip-off in front of the team shop. It performs till the end of the first quarter. “It’s great exposure for us,” says Miller. “We’re in front of an audience we wouldn’t normally be in front of. We’re going to get a nice cross section of the city.”

You’d think LeBron James would be enough excitement for Cleveland basketball fans. But the Cavs are offering even more entertainment for your ticket price. The team contracted with local rockers Catwalkblue to provide music prior to 12 games, including the December 26th game, which starts at 7 p.m. The band will play for about tho hours before tipoff.
